The operators of this site treat the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data as confidential and respect legal data protection regulations, as outlined in this privacy statement.
Visits to our website are generally possible without providing personal information. Whilst personal data and information may be collected on our site (e.g. name, address or email addresses), this will be performed on a voluntary basis as much as possible. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may involve gaps in security. A gap-free protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
The majority of the cookies used by us are known as “Session Cookies”. They will be automatically deleted once you have left our website. Other cookies remain saved on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognise your browser when you next visit.
The deactivation of cookies may restrict the functionality of this website.

The website host server automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which are automatically transmitted from your browser. These include:
- browser type and browser version
- operating system
- referrer URL
- host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
- time of the server request
This data does not render individuals identifiable. The data will not be merged with any other sources. If we become aware there is evidence of illegal use, we reserve the right to verify this data retrospectively.
If you contact us via the contact form, the information provided, including your contact information, may be stored for the purpose of processing the request and follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your permission.
With the following information, we will inform you about the contents of our newsletter as well as the registration, dispatch process and statistical evaluation procedures, as well as your right of objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to the receipt and the procedures described.
We send out newsletters, emails and other electronic notifications with advertising information (hereinafter referred to as “newsletter”) only with the consent of the recipient or a legal permission. Unless specified otherwise in the content of the newsletter registration, the consent of the user is necessary.
Double Opt-in and Logging
The registration for our newsletter takes place in a procedure known as a double opt-in process. After logging in, you will get an email in which you will be asked to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary, so that no one can register with illegitimate email addresses.
The registration to the newsletter is regulated, as is required in accordance with legal restrictions. This includes the storage of the registration and confirmation date, as well as the IP address. Additionally, any changes in your data will be stored by MailChimp.
The newsletter is dispatched using MailChimp, a mailing platform from the USA-based Rocket Science Group, LLC, a 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
The email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as any other data described in the context of this service, are stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA. MailChimp uses this information for the dispatch and evaluation of the newsletter on our behalf. Additionally, as according to its own information, MailChimp may use this data to optimise or improve their own services, e.g. for technical optimisation of dispatch services and the presentation of the newsletter, or for economic purposes to determine in which countries the recipients are based. MailChimp does not uses the data of our mailing list to contact you directly nor do they pass this information on to third parties.
We have full confidence in the reliability of IT and data security at MailChimp. MailChimp acts in accordance with the US-EU data protection procedures. They are “Privacy Shield” certified and committed to the EU Data Protection Regulations. In addition, we have a data processing agreement with MailChimp. This contract ensures MailChimp is committed to protect the privacy of our users, in accordance with our own data protection conditions and, in particular, a commitment to protect this information from third parties.
Collection and analysis of statistics
Our newsletter contains a so-called “web beacon”, i.e. a pixel size file that alerts the MailChimp’s server when the newsletter file is opened. Included in this alert will be technical information, such as information regarding browser and operating systems, as well as an IP address and time of the alert. The information used includes technical data for technical improvement of services. Additionally, data regarding servers and access times (with the help of an IP address) may be used to gather information on demographics and their reading habits.
Included in statistical data collection is information on whether the newsletter is opened and which links are clicked. This information can be linked to the individual newsletter recipients for technical reasons. However, neither we nor MailChimp aim to track individual users. Instead, data collection informs us about the reading habits of our users and allows us to adapt our content in accordance with your interests and to send you more relevant content.
Server requests and data management
There are cases, in which newsletter recipients are redirected to the MailChimp website. For example, our newsletter may include a link, with which the recipient can view the newsletter online rather than in their email account. This may occur when there are problems with the settings in an email platform. In addition, the recipient may correct their data, i.e. update an email address. Even so, the data protection policy of MailChimp is retrievable on their site.
With this in mind, we would like to point out that cookies are used on the web pages of MailChimp and therefore personal data may be processed by MailChimp, their partners and the service providers (such as Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection process. Further information can be found in the data protection policy of MailChimp. We also highlight your rights in opposing collection of data for purposes of advertising here: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ and http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (relevant for European users).

Collection and dissemination of information:
Using the Google+ button allows you to publish information worldwide. The Google + button will provide you and other users with personalised content from Google and our partners. Google stores both the information that you have used the + 1 button, as well as information about the page that you viewed when you clicked +1. Your + 1 clicks may appear as additional information along with your profile name and photo in Google services, such as in search results or in your Google profile, or elsewhere on websites and ads on the web.
Google records information about your + 1 activity to improve Google’s services to you and others. To use the Google + button, you need a globally visible, public Google profile that must contain at least the name chosen for the profile. This is the name that will be used in all Google services. In some cases, this name may also replace a different name you used when sharing content through your Google Account. The identity of your Google Profile may be displayed to users who know your email address or have other identifying information from you.
Use of the information collected:
Our website uses plug-ins from the Google-powered YouTube platform. The operator of the pages is YouTube, LLC., 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit one of our YouTube plug-in enabled sites, you will be connected to the servers of YouTube. The YouTube server will be informed which of our pages you visited.
If you’re logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube may associate your browsing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
